Factors Affecting to the Health Risk Behaviors of the High School Students in Guri-si

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors related to health risk behaviors of high school students in Guri-si in order to provide information for health promotion and health education programs. The subjects were 671 first- and second-year students at a high school in Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do and data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire for 10 days from the 20th to the 30th of April 2004. Collected data were analyzed statistically through t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and stepwise multiple regression by SPSS Win 11.0 The main results of this study were as follows: 1. As for the total score of health risk behaviors by sociodemographic characteristics, the score was significantly high in students who were unhealthy, had smoking parents, not satisfied with school life, had no school health education, and whose families were not peaceful(P3. According to the result of affecting factors to health risk behaviors, the health risk behaviors of the high school students were affected by safety risk behavior, irregular eating habit, drinking, inappropriate weight loss behavior, physical inactivity, and smoking.
